Professional Development for Educators

Professional development plays a crucial role in helping educators prepare to educate a changing workforce and grow partnerships with manufacturers and engineering companies. The TIME Center supports these efforts through a wide range of regularly scheduled courses and seminars, as well as funding for learning projects and for attending seminars and conferences scheduled by ATE Centers and other organizations.

The TIME CENTER funds innovative learning projects designed by educators and sponsors career-advancing seminars, workshops, and conferences. Learn more:

Past PD events

  • Summer 2012:  As part of the Digital Fabrication Learning Community (DFLC) NSF  grant to Fox Valley Technical College, Wisconsin, the TIME Center recently provided a workshop to persons who would like to start a Fab Lab.  Nine professionals from the Mid-Atlantic region completed the program.  Participants learned about the Fab Lab equipment, ideas on budgeting and sustaining a lab, and Next Generation Manufacturing.  All participants completed various projects throughout the workshop.
